So I now have my first weekend of real racing under my belt. Today was the conclusion of the San Dimas stage race with a really fast crit. It was one of the better fields assembled for US level racing, and certainly the fastest racing this event has ever seen.
As for the team, we had Cam get into a break today, which ended up staying away until the end. He finished second on the stage, but gained time bonuses in the intermediate sprints, launching him to the win for the overall stage race by just one second! Needless to say, it is a happy evening for my team.
As for myself, I had quite a solid weekend of racing and am happy to be feeling strong after the last week of being sick. For the overall stage race I finished somewhere around 28th place. (The final results are still coming in) I am really looking forward to Redlands this coming weekend where there will be some tougher courses and some more hard racing.
